Between The Buried And Me

Aggressive Tendencies on Exclaim! TV

BY Ariel MathesonPublished Jan 22, 2016

Having released their second concept album, Coma Ecliptic, last summer, Between the Buried and Me have been touring relentlessly ever since. On their brief Toronto stopover last December, we were lucky to have bassist Dan Briggs swing by to detail their complicated process on Exclaim! TV Aggressive Tendencies.

In the clip, Briggs emphasizes the theatrical influences on the album, which he claims is "not just a collection of songs," but something much greater. Coma Ecliptic was undoubtedly a step outside of the North Carolina progressive metallers' comfort zone, but Briggs goes on to mention that the final product was exactly what they had been working towards. Briggs also discusses the band's desire to bring shows to life with added visual elements, allowing the fans to immerse themselves even more deeply into their darkly woven tales. Thankfully, you'll have plenty of chances to experience the story for yourself at one of their many upcoming tour dates.

Below, watch the interview — which contains clips from the music video for Coma Ecliptic cut "The Coma Machine" — and find BTBAM's full North American tour itinerary.
