Portishead's Beth Gibbons Signs to Domino for New Solo Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 12, 2013

We're unsure when Portishead will issue their long-in-the-works fourth LP, but it looks as if the band's Beth Gibbons may issue a solo LP before it arrives. The smoky-voiced singer has confirmed she's prepping an album of her own for Domino.

There are few details to go on beyond the signing, but a message Gibbons wrote on her website reads: "It's great to be with a British Independent and I love working with [Domino founder] Laurence (Bell)."

Domino added, "We are happy to confirm that we will be releasing the next album by one of our favourite singers, Beth Gibbons."

Gibbons released Out of Season, a collaboration with Talk Talk's Paul Webb (aka Rustin Man), in 2002.
