After roping in a star-studded cast for last year's Buddy Holly tribute Rave On, producer Randall Poster has assembled a similar batch of artists for a new project. This time they'll be taking on the music of Fleetwood Mac.
Though the tribute album doesn't have a title just yet, the tracklisting indicates that the album will feature appearances from Best Coast, the New Pornographers, MGMT, Marianne Faithful, Antony Hegarty, Washed Out, the Kills, Lykke Li and, er, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons among many others.
We're also going to go out on a limb and suggest that the cover of "Albatross" accredited to Ranaldo and Mascis is most likely a collaboration between Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo and Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis, which alone makes this compilation worth the wait.
According to Direct Current, the yet-to-be-titled project will be available on August 14 via Hear Music/Concord. The full tracklisting is available below.
