Bersarin Quartett

II

Four years later, the mastermind behind Bersarin Quartett returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to his critically acclaimed self-titled debut. Thomas Bücker has picked up largely where he left off, this time enlisting a few musicians to help bring more of his compositions to life. II feels and plays like it would on stage. Strings return in their primary role, conveying deeply emotive themes that blossom and wither in cinematic fashion. The presence of electronic sounds is subtle, but not understated, used primarily for rhythmic support and creating vast fields of textured ambiance. The album feels much more organic than his previous endeavour, with tracks exhibiting patience and precision, defying time and luring the listener into a world uniquely its own. Bücker is easily one of the most talented ambient artists of today – never have orchestrated arrangements and electronics felt so brilliantly united. Years have only blessed Bücker's methods, as his visions continue to reach new heights.
