Benoît Pioulard Returns with New Kranky LP, Premieres "Layette"

A little over a year removed from his Sonnet LP, Thomas Meluch has readied another full-length effort under his musical moniker Benoît Pioulard. Titled The Benoît Pioulard Listening Matter, Meluch's sixth studio record under the name arrives this fall through Kranky.

Arriving on the 10th anniversary of his debut LP Précis, the record is said to offer "a rekindled focus on self-examination, as well as a return to vocal-based pop structures" following Sonnet. The record was also recorded during a period in Meluch's life of grief, turmoil and self-medication, followed by two years of growth and healing.

Running 13 tracks in length, Meluch has also shared a taste of what to expect form the record with "Layette," a song delivered as a reflection on vice.

The Benoît Pioulard Listening Matter arrives October 14. Scroll through the tracklisting to hear "Layette" in the player below.
