Benediction

Organized Chaos

Kings of rehashed death metal, rulers of Nuclear Blast's mail-order catalogue, almighty gods of the Death Is Just The Beginning compilation series, call them what you want but, without a doubt, call them boring. Benediction is still stuck in the early '90s, oblivious to change or progress. These guys should check out some new metal releases, or for that matter, releases from 1995, to see how they can remain heavy and mature their sound a little. There's not much else to say about a band that keeps releasing the same record to a buying public slowly growing weary of its sound, but a quick summary: bass-heavy, mainly mid-tempo death metal with grunts and decipherable growls over top of the tunes and an occasional foot-tapping groove, all played great, but played out and left for dead.
