The Pains of Being Pure At Heart

"Belong"

Brooklyn, NY indie pop crew the Pains of Being Pure at Heart have a new album, Belong, due out March 29 via Slumberland. Produced by the mega-successful Flood (U2, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Depeche Mode), we already knew that it would be a significantly higher-fidelity release than the band's self-titled debut. Now, we've got another taste of the group's new beefed-up sound via the album's title track.

"Belong" begins with jangling guitars followed by a massive blast of fuzz that kicks in around the 13-second mark. It channels the classic indie pop of the Pains' debut, but with added grunge-y grit.
