Published Sep 03, 2010It's official, folks: Belle & Sebastian are back. They've got a new album, Belle and Sebastian Write About Love, due out October 12, plus a North American tour underway soon. Now, the Matablog has unveiled the first episode of their previously announced TV show.
The episode contains performances of two new songs: "I Want the World to Stop" and "I Didn't See It Coming." It also contains some snippets of new music, plus submissions from the band's recent photo contest. To watch, click on the embedded widget below or head over to BelleAndSebastian.com.
That's not the only exciting news for fans of the Scottish pop collective. They've also announced that the first single from the new LP will be the title track, "Write About Love," which will hit the web officially on September 7.
One day before the single officially drops, the band will send the track to one lucky Twitter follower. According to the Matablog, "It will be the winner's choice what to do with it ahead of release. They can keep it to themselves in the knowledge that no-one else has it; share it with their friends; hold a listening party at their home or they could let the world either hear it or hear all about it online (and see if we get upset in the process!) - the choice is entirely theirs."
If you'd like to be the first to hear the new song, just start following @bellesglasgow and write a tweet, including the hashtag #writeaboutlove. The winner will also receive an early copy of the album on vinyl and CD, as well as some other "assorted B&S goodness."
Lastly, the band have announced the winner of their photo contest. Click here to see the first place picture.
