Belle and Sebastian Start Recording New Album, Announce Reissue Series

Glaswegian indie pop greats Belle and Sebastian have been hinting at a follow-up to 2010's Write About Love, previously saying that it would be arriving this fall. Things appear to be right on track, as the band are currently recording the album.

According to a press release, the band are currently recording the album in Atlanta with producer Ben H. Allen, who has worked with Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Youth Lagoon and Washed Out, among others.

When it's finished, that record will arrive via Matador, but that's not all. The label is also planning an extensive reissue series of the group's back catalogue.

That's set to kick off this fall, around the same time that frontman Stuart Murdoch's God Help the Girl is set to receive a proper theatrical release.

The group have also got a handful of tour dates planned, though sadly none in Canada. Those can be viewed here.
