Like everyone else, the members of Belle and Sebastian have been quarantining to help flatten the curve of the coronavirus. Rather than wait around, however, frontman Stuart Murdoch has started collaborating with fans.

The singer recently asked fans to submit lyrics for a collaborative project that has been named "Protecting the Hive." The first part of the project has culminated in a spoken word piece and music video, available below.

The song features lyrics submitted by Andrea Keklak, Tracy Wilson, Anaís Badilla, Sebastian George, Anjie Cao, Ana Acosta, Juliette Pétriat, Saydat Naser, Hande Akgün, Michael Bird, Marc Stone, Melissa Ann Cook, Annabel Nijhof and Brenna Ehrlich.

In the new video, the lyrics are narrated by Stuart Murdoch and Allesandra Lupo, then paired with beautiful shots of Glasgow during lockdown from director Kenny MacLeod.

Watch the video for "Protecting the Hive" below. Belle and Sebastian will also release a demo of a new song from the same project later this week.
