Right off the heels of their surprise album Late Developers, Belle and Sebastian have cancelled their North American tour, citing the same health issues that postponed their UK and South American dates.

A statement by bandleader Stuart Murdoch explains he needs more time to recover before hitting the road. "As you might be aware my health took a dive around November 2022," it reads. "While I am hoping that I will improve over the coming months, we felt it would be a safer route to cancel this tour and leave a clear path to recovery, rather than take a risk and have to cancel at the last minute."

The cancellation affects the band's appearances at History in Toronto and at the Bronson Centre in Ottawa.

Late Developers is Belle and Sebastian's second album in eight months following May's release of A Bit of Previous. Revisit our ranking of their 10 best tracks.
