Published Mar 04, 2013Toronto-based shoegazers Beliefs have stirred up a fair amount of buzz already, and now they're looking to take the next step with the release of their debut album. Their self-titled LP drops tomorrow (March 5) through Hand Drawn Dracula/Manimal Vinyl/No Pain in Pop, and you can stream it now on Exclaim.ca.
The album was produced by the band's own Josh Korody, with sessions taking place at three different studios over the course of a year. Its fuzzy, fog-shrouded shoegaze sound alludes to classic acts like My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive, while bringing enough of themselves into the mix to keep things fresh.
The album will please fuzz-lovers with distortion-filled amp-melters like "Catch My Breath," while seven-and-a-half minute closer "Gallows Bird" begins with contemplative arpeggios before exploding into a cinematic epic.
Order the album from Hand Drawn Dracula and stream it below, where you'll also find Beliefs' upcoming tour dates.
