This week, Thurston Moore shed some light on the affair that ended his marriage with longtime partner (and Sonic Youth bandmate) Kim Gordon, and now he's continuing to air his dirty laundry by publicly clashing with feminist-friendly website Jezebel over the issue.
Shortly after Moore announced that he was "in a really romantic place" with new girlfriend Eva Prinz, Jezebel posted an article titled "Thurston Moore Confirms He Is a Dick." The story examines the alleged timeline of Moore's affair and concludes, "he sounds like a dickhole."
In response, Moore took to Facebook early this morning (March 7) and wrote, "Jezebel is gender fascism. By not having any real critical facility to understand, in their case, men in relationship to women (presumably them) they opt to promote hate by imperialist blather. By couching it in feminism is a distinct lack of class, but i'm sure they're having a bit of online fun and when they grow up maybe they'll glean the complexities of real life and love."
Already, the rant has proved to be divisive, as some fans have posted comments of support for Moore, with others have posted things like, "Way to come off like even more of an asshole, than you already did," "What a dick. I had no idea Thurston was this reactionary," and "You're a cheater. You're the douchebag here."
