Beefs 2014: Mark Kozelek Trolls the War on Drugs with Comeback Track "Adam Granofsky Blues"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 29, 2014

After being described as "a fucking child" in a recent interview with the War on Drugs leader Adam Granduciel, Mark Kozelek is striking back with another snickering diss track he calls "Adam Granofsky Blues."

Extending his Sun Kil Moon project into the world of trolldom, this latest online exclusive plays out as a basic 12-bar blues, with Kozelek reading out portions of Granduciel's (née Granofsky) interview with Swedish blog Songs for Whoever. As previously reported, the War on Drugs member was reflecting on Kozelek's recent "War on Drugs: Suck My Cock," a song that slammed the band for drowning out his performance at the Ottawa Folk Festival with their own.

In the interview, Granduciel went on to note that Kozelek had apparently offered his services at a show where the War on Drugs could back him up on "War on Drugs: Suck My Cock" while he played "beer commercial guitar," a slag against the Philly unit, and then jam on one of his own tracks. Granduciel didn't reply immediately, and the offer was taken off the table, leading him to brand the Sun Kil Moon singer a "fucking prick." br>
Now, as you can hear over here, Kozelek is reading Granduciel's interview verbatim on the new acoustic blues jam, cracking himself up rather ingenuously in between lines.

Granduciel had said in the interview that he doesn't "have time for idiots." Only time will tell if this bizarre beef ends here and now.
