Beck Teams Up with Jack White for Third Man 7-Inch

Beck is apparently still putting together the pieces for an anticipated follow-up to 2008's Modern Guilt, but the musical mastermind is at least delivering a couple new tunes on an upcoming seven-inch single on Jack White's Third Man Records next week.

Beck will deliver a two-song slab of wax May 29 as part of the imprint's Blue Series. That's the simply stated artwork, featuring a sunglasses-and-fedora-sporting Beck posing in front of an ocean-coloured backdrop, up above.

Apparently, country-tinged "I Just Started Hating Some People Today" and the thematically titled "Blue Randy" were "recorded in 2011 while Beck was in Nashville working on new material for his long awaited next album. The songs spontaneously came together at the Third Man studio on Beck's final day in Nashville."

White produced both songs on the seven-inch and contributes "drums, acoustic guitar, punk vocal, background vocals" on the A-side, and some drums on the flip. You can stream both tunes here over at Third Man.

While plans for Beck's next full-length have yet been unveiled, it's been a reasonably good year for fans so far. Back in March, the popsmith delivered "Looking for a Sign" on the Jeff Who Lives at Home soundtrack.
