Published Jun 11, 2008In the lead-up to the new due-out-any-day-now Beck album, the funky Scientologist has announced a pair of West coast Canadian dates with down-home country rockers Band of Horses. On August 27 and 28, the new touring partners will hit up both Vancouver and Victoria, respectively, before heading back down south for Seattles Bumbershoot Festival, where both will play August 30.
And while Beck has confirmed these tour dates, as well as a chunk of others, he has yet to pin down a specific release day for his upcoming Danger Mouse-stamped record, likely titled Modern Guilt, which is due out on XL and Interscope. Nevertheless, on Monday he did play a "secret show in his hometown of L.A. where he dished out a bunch of rarities and gave fans a taste of a few new Modern Guilt tracks.
Modern Guilt will be his final record for Interscope, but as he recently told Rolling Stone, plans for a new home are up in the air. "I don't have any plans at the moment, Beck said. "It's anybody's guess where things are going week to week with the music business."
