Beck Announces North American Tour, Canadian Dates

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Sep 3, 2008

Beck has announced he will be spreading a bit more Modern Guilt this fall during his freshly expanded North American tour. The funky Scientologist has added several new dates to his touring schedule, including one in Toronto on October 5 and one in Montreal the following day.

Beck also recently dropped word that his father David Campbell will be joining him onstage an upcoming Hollywood Bowl show in L.A. This will mark the first time the father-son pair has performed together live.

In case you were unaware, Beck’s old man has a long and acclaimed career in the music biz as a composer/arranger. In the senior Campbell’s time, he has racked up credits on more than 400 gold and platinum albums and worked on sessions with everyone from Marvin Gaye and Carole King to Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond. He’s never done any strings for Beck’s albums but at the L.A. performance will take on the conductor duties for his son and lead the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra Strings.
