Beatsteaks Launched

On their sophomore release, Berlin's Beatsteaks polish their infectious brand of fresh pop punk to a blinding sheen thanks to the bucks and backing of Epitaph. Yet despite the musical and melodic similarities to a band like Blink 182, this isn't wuss rock. Obviously inspired by the SoCal pop-punk styling of Lagwagon and No Use For a Name, Beatsteaks also using their European roots to their advantage by picking up little bits of Refused-like noodling and Therapy?-like drive. No one ever said a band can't be aggressive, melodic and creative at the same time. And if anyone has said that, Beatsteaks are out to prove them wrong. (Epitaph)
