The Beatles to Hit the Big Screen - as Zombies?

If all goes according to plan, the Beatles will join the onslaught of zombies to hit the silver screen in recent years. According to Deadline, Alan Goldsher's illustrated novel, Paul Is Undead, which depicts the Fab Four as bloodthirsty zombies, has been optioned for the big screen by movie company Double Feature (Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty).

The novel version is a way-out-there interpretation of the Beatles' history where John Lennon kills and reanimates the other three Beatles who then go on a worldwide bloody killing spree. All the while, they are pursued by England's most notorious zombie hunter, Mick Jagger, and battle with a ninja assassin, Yoko Ono.

"I am a huge Beatles' fan like the rest of the world and Alan's mash up, which really showcases his love of music history and his appreciation of the zombie world, is a fun, funny read," Doubles Features partner Stacey Sher told Deadline. "The illustrations are fantastic, and how can you not love a book where Jesus agrees with Zombie John Lennon, that the Beatles are in fact bigger than him."

Sher confirmed that now that the company has optioned the film from Goldsher, Doubles Features will soon be shopping it around to studios, financiers and potential cast members.

And here's betting the Zombeatles are just itching to get in on this action.
