With the list of summer blockbusters mounting, this weekend will be a great time to catch up on some of the season's newest films. If you're looking to beat the heat over the next few days, there are a handful of releases hitting theatres. Head to Exclaim!'s Recently Reviewed section to help you narrow your search, and check out some of the week's highlights below.

First up, another superhero franchise gets a reboot in The Amazing Spider-man (pictured), starring Andrew Garfield as the titular web-slinger and Emma Stone as his love interest. Director Marc Webb helms the latest iteration, a tricky position given that the film comes only a few years after Peter Parker's story was last revisited.

Meanwhile, Oliver Stone's Savages boasts a star-studded cast, with Salma Hayek, Benicio Del Toro, John Travolta and Blake Lively populating a film that follows a drug cartel-related kidnapping, and To Rome with Love, Woody Allen's follow-up to Midnight in Paris, provides a similarly loaded cast, featuring intertwining narratives starring Penelope Cruz, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Allen himself and more.

Lastly, the documentary Unfinished Spaces takes an in-depth look at the architecture of Cuba's Instituto Superior de Arte, from its early conception to its present, and yet-to-be-completed, state.
