Running a record label means that there's a minimum of red tape involved in career-spanning reissues, and that seems to be the case for K Records boss Calvin Johnson. This year, the veteran indie pop songwriter will be reissuing his band Beat Happening's entire back catalogue.
Pitchfork notes that the label will go through all of Beat Happening's releases in chronological order, starting with 1985's self-titled LP. This is already available, and comes with a slew of extra material recorded between 1983 and 1985. Note that this isn't the first time Beat Hapenning has been reissued. Order your copy in CD, vinyl or digital formats here.
Many of the items from Beat Happening's discography are available on CD or digitally, but the LPs are generally out of print. The exact schedule for the reissues is unclear, but we can expect those albums to come back to wax in the coming months.
Indie pop fans might remember that, late last year, K Records made its entire back catalogue available to stream.
