Beachwood Sparks Reunite For Sub Pop 20, Record New Album

Thanks to Sub Pop's 20th anniversary, which takes place this weekend, a number of the label's long retired bands are reforming: the Vaselines, Green River, the Fluid, Seaweed, Les Thugs, Red Red Meat, and Eric's Trip (which doesn't really count because those guys always reform).

Also on the bill, and back at it for good, are Beachwood Sparks, and like some of the reunions, the sleepy-eyed Californians are set to give it another go. According to Pitchfork, bassist Brent Rademaker, guitarist Christopher Gunst, guitarist Dave Scher and drummer Jimi Hey are set to follow up their SP20 gig with a show at the, er, Henry Miller Library, in Big Sur, CA. (A library? I guess they really are starting from scratch...)

Two more California gigs will follow in August and then it's off to make the long overdue follow-up to 2002's psych country pop opus Once We Were Trees, which according to Sub Pop, is set for an early 2009 release.
