The Beaches, Sia and Pennywise Lead Our Music/Video Roundup

BY Rebecca M. WilliamsPublished Jul 7, 2014

After a delightfully short workweek, getting back into the swing of things can be hard. Here at Exclaim!, we like to ring in every new week by bringing together some of our most popular singles, album streams and music videos in our Music/Video Roundup. You've got a full week ahead of you, so you might as well take some time to savour what today's roundup has to offer.

Kicking off today's roundup is the Beaches' cinematic pairing to their alt-rock jam "Strangelove." With performance shots, scenic footage and a storyline about a conflicted lover, the clip is the perfect visual partner to the hypnotizing, punchy track.

Next, watch Sia perform a trio of songs off her new 1000 Forms of Fear LP on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The performance is unique, to say the least — it features clown-like costumes, chaotic choreography and plenty of bizarre interpretive movement to match Sia's emotion-fuelled vocals. You'll find her performance of "Chandelier," "Big Girls Cry" and "Elastic Heart" all at the link above.

Things get a little heavier with our stream of Pennywise's comeback album, Yesterdays. Unreleased songs written by the late Jason Thirsk get revisited 25 years later on the new LP, resulting in a collection of full-force punk scorchers. Click the link to hear it and learn more about Pennywise's return. Next, catch up on the latest from Toronto rockers the Dirty Nil. "Cinnamon" is a firecracker of a single, and their first since signing with Fat Wreck Chords. Follow the link to hear it.

Today's closer is our stream of Tourist, the solo debut of Jeen O'Brien, better known as Jeen. Stream the entire album — including a folk-tinged cameo from Brendan Canning — at the link above.
