Beach Slang to Deliver 'A Loud Bash of Teenage Feelings' for Sophomore LP

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 13, 2016

Despite the recent departure of drummer JP Flexner, Beach Slang are still tearing it up on tour, and they've just revealed plans for the band's sophomore record.

A Loud Bash of Teenage Feelings is slated to land on September 23 through Polyvinyl. The new LP will mark the follow-up to last year's The Things We Do to Find People Who Feel Like Us.

According to frontman James Alex, the new set of tracks was inspired by the kids they met at shows in support of their debut full-length. "A lot of the songs are the stories of the kids who got turned on to Beach Slang by the first album," Alex explained. "They're autobiographical, too, but kind of at a remove — I'm not that young kid anymore, but I used to be."

To preface the album, the group have unveiled a brand new single called "Punks in a Disco Bar," and (if you couldn't tell by the title), it's dripping with rock'n'roll nostalgia.
