Published Mar 02, 2010We already knew that this year's Toronto Island Concert was going to be epic. That much became clear in January when we reported that the line-up would include indie rock legends Pavement, as well as Broken Social Scene and Band of Horses. Now, the full line-up has been announced, and the concert is looking even better.
Much-beloved folkie Timber Timbre (aka Taylor Kirk) has been added to the bill, and will play the festival after wrapping up his Canadian and European tours.
Also on the line-up are slow-waltzing Sub Pop sensations Beach House. This means the duo will be playing in Toronto twice within four months, as they're scheduled to perform at the Opera House on March 30.
Rounding out the line-up is the Toronto Revue, which features Zeus, Flash Lightnin' and the Beauties. The latter are not to be confused with the Vancouver alt-rockers of the same name.
The show will take place on June 19. Now in its fifth year (each year since 2004 except for 2007 and 2009), it will be held in its usual location on Toronto's Olympic Island.
Tickets are on sale now and will set you back $49, plus ferry fare and service charges. You can pick them up now at Ticketmaster, Rotate This, Soundscapes and the Horseshoe Tavern.
The only thing that could make this better would be news that Pavement will be touring the rest of Canada. We wait with bated breath.
