After a pair of much-celebrated LPs, Beach House are moving up the label food chain. Seattle indie rock peddlers Sub Pop have announced that the label has scooped up the dreamy Baltimore duo and will release the band's upcoming third album.
According to Sup Pop, Beach House took a break from touring in July to head to upstate New York to record their as-yet-untitled new record with Chris Coady (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Grizzly Bear) at Dreamland Studios in Woodstock. "They spent a solid month in solitude writing and recording in the church-converted-to-studio compound," says the label. "What they emerged with is their greatest work to date!"
There's no firm release date for the album yet, but Sub Pop says to expect it in "early 2010." In the meantime, you can check out Beach House on the road, where they'll be playing several dates with Grizzly Bear and hit up Victoria, BC's Rifflandia Festival. For a complete list of dates, click here.
