Beach House, M83 and CMW Lead This Week's Can't Miss Concerts

This week's edition of Can't Miss Concerts, from April 28 to May 4, features a little something for everyone, from the savage pits of Amon Amarth and Baroness shows to the hazy, alien worlds of Beach House and M83. Below, we've compiled our weekly list of the best shows hitting Canada this week. Amon Amarth
 
After playing a number of intimate European release shows back in March, Viking metal band Amon Amarth are ready to take their latest conceptual project, Jomsviking, to a much bigger crowd. Find them at one of the dates below, and prepare yourself to be fully immersed in their Viking world filled with love, violence and revenge.

Baroness
 
Baroness will be at the beginning of their hefty North American tour this week, so now is your chance to catch them ahead of the crowd. Their live show will see the Georgian metal outfit bringing their latest LP, Purple, to the stage, which means we're in for a healthy dose of "classic Baroness goodness, full of heaviness and gigantic choruses."

Beach House
 
Dream pop duo Beach House seem like they're really into pairs these days, having released two new albums last year, and hitting Vancouver with a double whammy of shows this week. The latter of the two sees them performing a special intimate "installation" set at a venue that has yet to be revealed. Join them for an otherworldly evening of art and sound at one of the dates listed below.

CMW
 
Taking over the city of Toronto from May 2 to 8, Canadian Music Week is packed with tons of exciting musical acts, including Tegan and Sara, Wintersleep, the Strumbellas and more. Death From Above / Eagles of Death Metal
 
The formidable rock'n'roll team-up of Death From Above and Eagles of Death Metal have finally kicked off the Canadian part of their long-awaited joint tour. Not that you're in need of any further convincing, but Death From Above's Sebastian Grainger himself has told Canadians to "get ready for real rock-and-roll and wear your tuxedos."
