BC Photographers Point the Lens at Canadian Festivalgoers
Victoria-based photographers Kim Jay and Craig Shutko (who, full disclosure, are both Exclaim! contributors) have been working on an ongoing portrait project called We Are Revellers and are now seeking crowdfunding to take the series international next year.

The photographs document festivalgoers at their finest — or as Jay puts it, "when they are feeling their most liberated and free of inhibition," resulting in a display of true positivity.

"We started We are Revellers to document the people that make up the cultural movement that is music and arts festivals," continued Jay. "This collection is about preserving their contribution and spirit."

The full collection is currently available online, though the photographic duo hope to expand the series by travelling to seven festivals across Canada, the U.S. and Central America next year. To meet their goals, Jay and Shutko have launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $12,000.

Their dream itinerary includes stops at Envision (Uvita, Costa Rica), Sasquatch (the Gorge, WA), Tall Tree Music Festival (Port Renfrew, BC), Bass Coast (Merrit, BC), Regina Folk Festival (Regina, SK) and Burning Man (Black Rock City, NV), before finally ending up back home at Rifflandia (Victoria, BC).

The campaign runs until December 11 and you can contribute to it here. You can head to the We Are Revellers gallery to check out the current collection online.
