Bayside Return with 'Vacancy' LP, Reveal North American Tour with the Menzingers

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Apr 26, 2016

A few years removed from their 15th anniversary of music-making, New York punk crew Bayside have announced they'll be back out on the road again this year with a new album in tow.

Titled Vacancy, the band's seventh studio album is set to arrive on August 19 via Hopeless Records. Running 11 tracks in length, the album is being offered in pre-order bundles that feature CD and vinyl versions of the record and are available here.

As a press release explains, the album deals with the dissolution of singer/guitar player Anthony Raneri's marriage and "finding himself alone in the city that was meant to be his new home."

He explained in a statement: "The hotel on the album cover reflects the feelings I had while working on Vacancy. Writing this album, I felt as if everything was uncertain, I could move back to New York, buy a house in Nashville… I just didn't know what was going to come next. I felt very isolated and as if everything in my life was temporary at that moment."

About a week before Vacancy arrives, the band will embark on a headlining tour through the United States that will keep them on the road through August and much of September. Support will come from the Menzingers and Sorority Noise.

The lone Canadian date sees the band stop in Toronto at the Opera House on August 25. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 29) at noon local time, though you can get your hands on pre-sale tickets a day early by using the pre-sale code "NASHVILLE."
