BY Peter SanfilippoPublished May 1, 2014

Welcome to May, the month of patios opening up, sinus-destroying pollen and students moving back in with their parents and battling tooth and nail for summer employment. Sounds like a great time to take an evening to enjoy a good show, if you ask us. To help you decide what to hit up, we've put together another Can't Miss Concerts roundup for the week of May 1 to 7. None of these tickle your fancy? Make sure to check our complete Concert Listings for more concert goodness near you.

The 1975

Across-the-pond indie rockers the 1975 will continue their string of Canadian shows from last week with some great week bookends in Manitoba and Ontario. The band will be kicking off the month of May at Winnipeg's Union Sound Hall, and after a few American shows, will be playing their last Canadian date in Toronto on May 6 at the Danforth Music Hall.

05/02 Ottawa, ON - Ritual
05/03 Toronto, ON – The Horseshoe Tavern

Bun B

Off the release of his 2013 record Trill OG: the Epilogue, underground king Bun B will be starting off the month with shows in Calgary, Winnipeg and Toronto. Fans will get to hear plenty of the new record, and if you're really lucky, this might be your chance to finally get your Bun B colouring book signed.

05/03 Winnipeg, MB – Union Sound Hall
05/04 Toronto, ON – The Hoxton

Fuck the Facts

For the second week in a row, Canadian grindcore crew Fuck the Facts have a performance schedule as heavy as their music. Shlohmo

Los Angeles-based beatmaker Shlohmo will be making a rare stop in Toronto's Opera House this week on his North American tour. Press sheets for this tour have hinted at special guest appearances, and though his EP with R&B singer Jeremih still hasn't been issued, this may be a chance to hear some of the beats from that collaboration.
