Bat for Lashes Unveils NSFW 'Haunted Man' Artwork, New Video

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 23, 2012

Last month, Bat for Lashes (aka Natasha Khan) announced her third full-length LP, The Haunted Man, would arrive this fall, but details were pretty spare beyond that nugget of news. The solo artist has now delivered a few extra details in the form of a tracklisting and some slightly NSFW cover art.

As you can see in the picture up above, the artwork features Khan staring deadpan into the camera's eye sporting nothing but some necklaces and a man-sized stole. Shot by celebrated photographer Ryan McGinley, the picture tastefully places the just-as-naked prop's hands, thighs and arms over Khan's unmentionables.

The shot itself fits in with McGinley's naturalistic, skin-revealing oeuvre, including a series that had nubile twenty-somethings cavorting with snakes, owls and monkeys. You can see some of those shots over here, though be forewarned: there's a lot of full-frontal action.

But back to The Haunted Man. Bat for Lashes has also revealed the disc's tracklisting and a video for previously revealed album track "Laura." The clip for the delicate, piano-and-muted-brass-assisted song finds Khan circling a dressing room before putting on an intimate performance with a couple of dancers in an empty theatre house. You can also stream the song in the SoundCloud player below.

The Haunted Man arrives in North America October 23 via Capitol, and a week earlier in the UK on October 15 via Parlophone/EMI.
