Bass Drum of Death Return with 'Rip This,' Share "Left for Dead" Single

Mississippi rock duo Bass Drum of Death have maintained a relentless work ethic over the last few years. So it's no big surprise that following last year's self-titled LP, the group have already prepared a follow-up platter.

The release is called Rip This, and it apparently marks the next logical step in the band's evolution toward populist rock anthems. The album's 10 songs were dreamt up while the group was on tour with Unknown Mortal Orchestra last year. The group then holed up with UMO bassist Jacob Portrai, who produced the album at Prairie Sun Studios in California.

Boasting that they've "transformed rooms full of normally too-cool-to-rock indie crowds into a mob of sweaty, stage-diving maniacs," a press release promises that Rip This sees the band "teetering on the brink of reaching a mainstream audience," adding that it marks "their attempt to record an unapologetic rock album for people outside their normal fan base."

Rip This will be available on October 7 via Innovative Leisure. The album's rip-roaring lead single "Left for Dead" can be streamed below.

While the album still won't be out until October, the band have also rolled out a North American tour. You can see the dates, which include a Toronto stop, below as well.
