Bass Drum of Death Prep GB City LP, North American Tour and TV Performance with MellowHype

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Apr 4, 2011

Things are really starting to heat up for Oxford, MS two-piece Bass Drum of Death. The wonderfully sloppy garage duo are just about set to release their new full-length, GB City, on Fat Possum next Tuesday (April 12). With that in mind, the outfit need to do a little bit of advance press, which explains not one but two performances this week on Fuel TV's The Daily Habit.

A press release explains that while the group will be taking to the airwaves tonight (April 4) to perform "Get Found," a cut from GB City, the following night (April 5) will see them doing something much different: Bass Drum of Death will act as hip-hoppers MellowHype's back-up band during their Fuel TV spot.

Pairing the rockin' twosome with the side-project from Odd Future members Hodgy Beats and Left Brain isn't completely out of left field. You might remember that MellowHype are re-releasing their once-free online album, Blackenedwhite, on Fat Possum as well – label synergy, everybody. The supergroup of sorts will tackle MellowHype's "64."

If you dig what you hear either night, maybe you should check out Bass Drum of Death on their upcoming tour, which hits Toronto April 20. Check out the dates below.
