Barn Owl's Jon Porras Unveils New Solo Album
While Jon Porras got back together with Barn Owl buddy Evan Caminiti in 2013 to deliver their V, the San Francisco soundscaper will put the focus back on his solo career in 2014 via the release of a new album. His Light Divide arrives March 25 on Thrill Jockey.

A press release notes that Light Divide, his second solo effort for the label following 2012's Black Mesa, creates "cavernous sound-worlds" via the use "guitars and stacks of amplifiers or modular synthesizers." The five-song drone release also apparently uses "sub-bass as a foundation," while also incorporating percussion, white noise, and various analogue and digital sources to fill out the gaps.

Samples from the record have yet to be unleashed, but you can check out the tracklisting down below. Over here, you'll find the cover art, which is a photo of French architect Le Corbusier's Maison La Roche in Paris. You can also pre-order the set over here.
