As previously reported, Bob Geldof has rounded up the musical troops for a 30th anniversary reworking of his Christmas charity classic "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

A recording session took place on Saturday (November 15) with producer Paul Epworth in London, with the song premiering on the UK's X Factor episode yesterday evening (November 16).

Pop stars like Bono, Sam Smith, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Ellie Goulding and One Direction make appearances on the track, as do Robert Plant, Jessie Ware, Underworld and Emeli Sande.

The single is officially out on Tuesday (November 18), with proceeds going towards the fight against Ebola. "We know we can contain Ebola; we have the doctors, the nurses, medicines and state systems," said Geldof in a statement about the charity project. "We have money. They're dying again because they are extremely poor. That is radically unacceptable."
