Balthazar

"Decisions"

Belgian indie pop outfit Balthazar recently revealed their latest LP Thin Walls, and they're about to make their way to this side of the Atlantic for a North American tour. Before they land, though, Exclaim! is giving you the first listen to a new track titled "Decisions."

Fittingly, the new album documents the difficulties and lack of privacy of life on tour, and the songs were written in a "hazy hyperactive state between shows." It hears the bands getting to know themselves and each other, with dark secrets, half-formed ideas and personality quirks forced into the openness of being in a band together.

"'Descisions' is one of the oldest songs we've written, we wrote it eight years ago when we were listening to a lot of delta blues," said songwriter Maarten Devoldere. "We never recorded it up until now because it took so long to find a way how to implement traditional form in our own Balthazar world."

"Decisions" was recorded during the sessions for Thin Walls, but didn't make the album's final cut and hasn't been released until now. Dreamy, psychedelic and totally mesmerizing, the new song can be heard for the first time in the player below.
