Baklavaa "Bad Filfth"

Baklavaa "Bad Filfth"
Since forming in 2011, Baltimore-based noise rock unit Baklavaa have dropped a pair of EPs, but they're now ready to follow up 2012's Hairmoans and 2013's Spiral Cramp with a full-length effort titled Dane On. Before the record arrives this spring, Exclaim! is bringing you the exclusive premiere of album cut "Bad Filfth."
Juxtaposing angular guitar work with catchy rock hooks, mixing melodic mumbling vocals with bursts of aggressive growls, and pairing up a steady, chugging bassline with erratic percussion, "Bad Filfth" reflects the ethos heard throughout Dane On.
The record manages to capture the band's live-from-the-garage-floor aesthetic, while maintaining the feel of a carefully crafted concept album with smooth transitions and thoughtfully placed ambience.

"We are very confident with the moments in time we were able to capture on this album," the group said in a statement. "Noel [Muller of Grimoire Records] really helped shape this album by providing an objective perspective outside of our realm of comfort. He challenged us to not become complacent, and pushed us to reevaluate decisions in the recording/mixing process."
