Afie Jurvanen's Bahamas released Sad Hunk back in October, and today, the artist has shared a new virtual performance of the album's "Half Your Love," tuning in from Halifax via Zoom with help from some of his Nashville music pals.
He's joined by music sibling duo the Secret Sisters — who provide vocal harmonies for the performance — as well as drummer Gene Chrisman, bassist Dave Roe, pedal steel ace Russ Pahl and guitarist Dan Knobler. The performance is Jurvanen's fifth instalment in an ongoing virtual concert series called Live to Tape.
"Recording with those veterans of industry was like playing an exhibition basketball match with Larry Bird, Charles Barkley and Isiah Thomas. It was only for fun, but the level of play was out of this world. I'm flattered they let me in the game, even if only for a few minutes," Jurnaven told Rolling Stone. "The Secret Sisters sing so effortlessly together you would think they were actually sisters [that's a joke]. They really elevated the whole session."
