Badbadnotgood Perform "Flashing Lights" (Live from Hillside)

On the final day of this year's Hillside Festival at Guelph Lake Island, Badbadnotgood kept the party going strong, and Exclaim! TV was there to capture their set.

The Toronto trio re-contextualize hip-hop in exciting and innovative ways. Their instrumental jazz covers have the ability to make everyone from trap rappers (Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame) to more left-field artists (Lil B, Odd Future) accessible to new audiences.

This interpretation of "Flashing Lights" by Kanye West was a definite pinnacle of their performance Sunday afternoon. With dynamics that quickly switch from quiet to loud, the group's musicianship was on full display. As the bass, drums and keys lock into a deep jam, the crowd starts jumping up and down in approval.
