Christmastime is here, and Canada's trendiest jazz ensemble have paid tribute to one of the world's most famous holiday jazz albums. BADBADNOTGOOD have covered Vince Guaraldi Trio's "Skating" from the 1965 classic A Charlie Brown Christmas.
They performed the tune for The Strombo Show.
As you can see from the clip, they mostly preserve Guaraldi's iconic piano parts, but they make the arrangement a little fancier and more dynamic, including more soloing and some sax parts. We see black and white footage of the ensemble (here in a four-piece configuration with saxophonist Leland Whitty) playing the song in a room that's decorated with a few twinkle lights.
