Bad Religion Announce 'True North' Album, Premiere New Song

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 5, 2012

An online chat this morning (November 5) with the members of melodic punk vets Bad Religion had the act announcing their latest LP, True North, will be issued by guitarist Brett Gurewitz's famed Epitaph imprint January 22.

The 30-minute talk found the band discussing everything from the album, to Gurewitz and vocalist Greg Graffin's penchant for writing songs in a minor key, to guitarist Brian Baker's distaste for the Mormon Church. Following the broadcast, Gurewitz posted the first single from the album, "Fuck You," on his label's YouTube channel.

Down below, you can stream the speedy song, which features the band's patented "oozin' aahs" background vocal harmonies and a lead-off riff somewhat similar to the title track off 1993's Recipe for Hate.

While the album won't arrive until 2013, you can pick up "Fuck You" on iTunes tomorrow. You can also pre-order the LP on its own or bundled with sweatshirts and watches over here.

Produced by Gurewitz and Joe Barresi, True North is Bad Religion's 16th album, and follows 2010's The Dissent of Man.
