Bad Channels

"Sad Channels"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 4, 2015

Not to be confused with the identically named Vancouver band, Toronto duo Bad Channels have signed with Buzz Records and have rolled out their first single for the local label. It's called "Sad Channels."

Nick Grottick and Jess Gierusz have been collaborating as Bad Channels since 2012, working mostly as experimental rap producers. Now, they've shifted their focus to original material, and "Sad Channels" effectively mixes the sinister with the sublime. It begins with an anxious drum machine loop and threateningly heavy riffs, but once the reverb-soaked vocals enter, it becomes hauntingly beautiful.
