Canada's steadily growing festival scene gets even bigger this fall with the launch of Nelson, BC's MASSiF event, which has just revealed that its inaugural weekend will feature headlining sets from controversy-stirring indie quartet Preoccupations and punk lifers D.O.A.

A press release delivered today (August 15) confirms a number of acts are now set to appear at Nelson venues the Legion and Spirit Bar on September 23 and 24. In addition to Preoccupations and D.O.A., the festival is also bringing out BC no-goodniks Dayglo Abortions, as well as Brass, AK-747s, Apache Sweater, Minus the Czar, Ninja Tears, Flat Outliers, Storc, the Dead Fibres, the Foul English and more.

The MASSIF fest describes itself as bringing out "a compact group of psych, stoner, heavy, punk, metal, indie, and rock bands, all in a rad little town, which happens to hide deep in some hills in southern BC."

A weekend pass granting you entry to all shows will cost $40, though a youth option is also being offered for $25. Ticketing options for individual shows has not been announced, while door pricing for the passes will cost you extra ($50 and $40, respectively).

More info on the lineup, ticketing and MASSiF's general M.O. can be found over on its website.
