Shit might suck even worse than it did before B.A. Johnston's last album, but the forthcoming record from the beloved Canadian troubadour will undoubtedly make things a little better. Titled Gremlins 3, Johnston's new effort lands on March 3 through Wyatt Records.
Gremlins 3 stands as Johnston's 11th studio LP and was recorded in Nova Scotia at the Echo Chamber and the Quarantine. The record was produced by Mathias Kom (Burning Hell) and Stephan Macleod (Windom Earle), and features Saint John, NB outfit Reaguns Rayguns as Johnston's backing band on six tracks.
A press release reveals that the album title came from Johnston's "desire to be sued by someone famous," while also promising songs about "cheap beer, drinking beer in a car, and drinking so much beer that you are worried you will fall out of a canoe and drown." Opener "I Need Donair Sauce," which accompanies the album announcement, pays homage to the garlicky East Coast diet staple. You can hear it in the player below.
Johnston has also announced a Canadian tour in support of the record, which will see him move from coast-to-coast through March and April. Lonely Parade, Lee Reed and Napalmpom will provide support on select dates.
