Awesome Color

Despite looking like members of a new age cult with their bright outfits and headbands, the members of Awesome Color deliver fiercely robust rock’n’roll. Co-produced by Thurston Moore, the band’s debut blends vicious Stooges repetition with drugged out blues outbursts. Bassist Michael Troutman and drummer Allison Busch lock into hypnotic rhythms while singer and guitar Derek Stanton wails away with wild abandon. From the opening stomp of "Grown” to the combustible groove of closing track "Animal,” Awesome Color delivers compelling tunes.
