Published Jun 19, 2014With Anxiety came high acclaim and even higher expectations, all of which were met by Autre Ne Veut last night at Tattoo. ANV's Arthur Ashin's set began with a request for super frenetic lighting and a quick hello before leading things off with "Play By Play". The whole room rushed to the front to marvel at his breathtaking performance, keeping a tight focus on Ashin's dramatic movements and amazing stage presence. "Ego Free, Sex Free" had a pack of fans screaming the lyrics and dancing, trying to match his impressive range and impeccable swagger. The energy was clearly well received because after an order for the house lights, Arthur proceeded to crowd surf into a sea of anxious spirits that helped him through "Gonna Die," a perfect transition into the piano ballad "World War" and a heart-pounding finale that proved third time in Toronto's a charm for this charismatic enigma.
