Austra's new Habitat EP includes a few instrumentals, and now one of those wordless cuts has got its own music video.
"Doepfer" is a dark electronic groove that's not too much of a departure from Austra's usual sound except for the lack of Katie Stelmanis' operatic vocals. The accompanying video, directed by Adrienne Crossman and Maya Postepski, is unsettling in a subtle way. We see people with their backs to the camera, shots of a dead rat, and various landscape shots, while glitchy effects add a twist to the slightly repetitive images.
