Ontario progressive metal quartet AURAS have announced the departure of vocalist Eric Almeida.

Announcing Almeida's exit on social media, the band wrote, "It has been an incredible journey creating music and sharing stages across North America with him. We want to thank Eric for all of the memories, passionate work, and genuine warmth that he brought to the band. He will truly be missed and we wish him the very best with his future endeavours. We love you brother!"

Remaining members Josh Ligaya, Aaron Hallman and Nathan Bulla also noted that "new music is coming."

A member of AURAS since 2011, Almeida (pictured far right above) contributed vocals to the outfit's 2013 EP Panacea, 2015 follow-up Crestfallen, 2016 EP Heliospectrum and 2019 full-length album Binary Garden.

Almeida's exit doesn't appear to impact a series of summer shows AURAS have mapped out in their home province.

In July, the band will make stops in London, Guelph and Hamilton, ahead of an August date in Kitchener supporting Born of Osiris. You can find their complete tour itinerary below, with further ticket details available here.
