As you may know, Brooklyn synth pop unit Au Revoir Simone doesn't actually feature anyone named Simone; it does, however, feature singer/keyboardist Erika Spring (aka Erika Forster), who has now gone solo for a new EP.
The five-song collection will come out on July 10 through Cascine. It includes Spring's previous solo single, "6 More Weeks," which came out in 2011 after Au Revoir Simone member Annie Hart's pregnancy meant that the band was put on hold. Watch the video for that song at the bottom of the page.
You can also stream Spring's entire EP over at SoundCloud. As you can hear, it's not too radical a departure for the songwriter, who once again deals primarily in hooky, synth-driven pop and drum machines.
