Atlanta Funk Experimenter Moon B Prepares 'Lifeworld' Tape for 1080p

At this point, Vancouver's cassette and digital release label 1080p Collection is basically unstoppable, with a steady stream of fascinating, worthwhile releases. Up next on the docket is a new release from Atlanta funk explorer Moon B.

Born Wes Gray, the artist first drew acclaim with an untitled album released on PPU in 2012. For his 1080p outing, Gray has returned with what the label describes as a "remapped take on his distinctly dusty and groovy sample-focused synth funk."

It's unclear exactly what the release will entail, but the label promises that "Gray has worked towards his particular sweet spot of retrofuturism," adding that the album "segues between antiquity and contemporary g-funk benefit from extremely rich, filmic moods and a general knack for basking in warmth and sincerity rather than obscurity."

It sounds like another surefire classic from 1080p. To make sure you don't miss out, you can pre-order the cassette here. The album is set to arrive on December 16.
